Opalescent Antique Stained Glass Window Panes    
One of our great recent finds in a warehouse of 1800's mantels were these antique opalascent stained glass windows. The technique is an American style developed in the 1870's, as this colored glass provides transluscence for light to enter while also providing a window with complete privacy - a totally new style over the stained glass techniques popular in Europe at the time. CLICK LEFT PHOTO FOR ENLARGED VIEW, WHICH IS A SCAN OF THE PATTERN IN ITS ACTUAL SIZE. Each window pane is totally unique. All are tan, white & green, some have bluish streaks too. Each piece of glass is 1/8" thick.


Unfortunately the window frames are in very poor shape, but the glass is in impeccable condition - just clean off the glazing putty and they're ready to use in your own restoration or craft project! At time of listing we have about 200 pieces; 5 window pane sizes available, all priced at $35 each or 10 for $300.
