Gas Service Valve Keys
Gas service valve keys are used to shut off the gas valve for servicing purposes. Service valves are a required to be within 3 feet of a gas appliance by National fuel gas code. These valves are either placed inside the wall or inside of the floor. Typically most valves are either 5/16" or 1/4". Be sure to measure before ordering for the correct key length.
 
Tip: If you ever need to turn off your gas always remember "righty tighty, lefty loosey." This means that to turn off gas to a fireplace turn they key to the right, to turn the gas on turn the key to the left.
